Krisis Timur Tengah : Kenyataan Akhbar Wisma Putra

KENYATAAN AKHBAR
BERKENAAN SITUASI SEMASA DI ALGERIA, BAHRAIN,
LIBYA DAN YEMEN

 
Kementerian Luar Negeri sentiasa memantau perkembangan terkini situasi di Algeria, Bahrain, Libya dan Yemen berikutan rusuhan dan tunjuk perasaan yang berlaku di negara-negara tersebut. Setakat ini, Kedutaan Besar Malaysia di Algiers, Algeria; Manama, Bahrain; Tripoli, Libya; dan Sana’a, Yemen telah melaporkan bahawa kesemua rakyat Malaysia yang berdaftar dengan pihak Kedutaan Besar Malaysia di negara-negara tersebut berada dalam keadaan selamat dan tidak terlibat di dalam rusuhan yang berlaku. Jumlah rakyat Malaysia yang berdaftar dengan Kedutaan-Kedutaan Besar Malaysia di Algeria adalah 60 orang, 500 orang di Bahrain, 150 orang di Libya dan 646 orang di Yemen.
 
Kementerian juga ingin menasihatkan rakyat Malaysia yang berada di negara-negara tersebut untuk mengikuti perkembangan terkini dan berhubung dengan pihak Kedutaan bagi mendapatkan sebarang bantuan sekiranya perlu.
 
Kementerian Luar Negeri telah mengarahkan pihak Kedutaan Besar Malaysia di Algiers, Manama, Tripoli dan Sana’a untuk menghubungi dan menasihati semua pelajar dan rakyat Malaysia yang menetap dan bekerja di negara-negara berkenaan supaya mengambil langkah-langkah keselamatan sewajarnya dan mengelakkan dari berada di tempat-tempat yang berisiko tinggi tercetusnya rusuhan. Pada masa yang sama, pihak Kedutaan akan terus memantau keadaan terkini di negara-negara berkenaan serta mengambil langkah-langkah yang diperlukan bagi memastikan semua rakyat Malaysia berada di dalam keadaan yang selamat.

EARTHQUAKE IN CHRISTCHURCH, NEW ZEALAND
22 FEBRUARY 2011
A major earthquake measuring 6.3 in magnitude struck Christchurch, New Zealand at 12.51 pm local time on 22 February 2011. There are reports of damage to houses and buildings and power failure. The High Commission of Malaysia in Wellington is monitoring the situation and is in contact with the Malaysian student associations in Christchurch. The High Commission is also in close contact with New Zealand authorities for the latest updates on the situation and advisories. The last major earthquake struck Christchurch on 4 September 2010 with a magnitude of 7.1. The High Commission has despatched officers to set up and oversee the operations room in Christchurch together with the Malaysian Student Department. The Ministry has also activated its Operations Room and the following contact lines as focal points for the public to seek information pertaining to the latest situation in Christchurch, New Zealand.

Ops Piramid : Situation Report Day 10 from Wisma Putra






SITUATION REPORT
EVACUATION OF MALAYSIAN CITIZENS FROM EGYPTDAY 10

  • Total evacuees who have left or leaving Madinatul Hujjaj, Jeddah on 13 February 2011 is 593 and not 600 as reported earlier.

  • Scheduled flights to Kuala Lumpur on 13 February 2011 are as follows;

  • Our Situation Report No. 15 dated 12 February 2011 stated that the remaining evacuees stood at 600. The difference was at of seven (7) evacuees.

  • Upon further investigation with Tabung Haji (Registration Committee), seven (7) students were those who left Madinatul Hujjaj to stay with their relatives in Jeddah.

  • Tabung Haji thought earlier that they had not submitted their passport. However, all of them had already submitted their passport and were already registered in the passengers manifest. Therefore, it was learnt that Tabung Haji has miscalculated the actual number of evacuees.

  • Total leaving Jeddah on 13 February 2011 is 605, calculated as follows:

·         Evacuees : 593

·         MKN officers : 2

·         MAS Officers: 3

·         Tabung Haji: 7

  • Total evacuees registered at Madinatul Hujjaj: 7,746.
  •  Total returned to Malaysia by Chartered/Sponsored flights: 7343

  • It is envisaged that Ops Piramid is another success story for Wisma Putra due to good coordination between its officers in Putrajaya and Ops Rooms in both Cairo and Jeddah.
  • Ops Room in Jeddah would like to convey its utmost gratitude and appreciation ton the cooperation and guidance rendered to it by Ops Room in Putrajaya and Cairo.
  • Ops Room in Jeddah will be officially closed on 14 February 2011 upon notification of safe arrival of SV832 in Kuala Lumpur. The officers fromDubaiAbu Dhabi and Muscat who are currently manning Ops Room in Jeddah will leave for their respective Posts on 15 February 2011.
